The train of thought presented here provides a point of departure for the social sciences: the old, neglected question of the image of man. It criticizes the psychological thinking dominated by behaviourism and regards it as especially dangerous that this philosophy, and the human robot model that follows from it, still imbues the social sciences today, even despite certain refinements and critiques. Examining the sociological aspects of the human robot conception, it points out the positive and negative psychological, social and economic influences of manipulation in the broad sense.
